TV Show Recommendation: Queer Eye: We’re in Japan!

Title: Queer Eye: We’re in Japan!
Creator: David Collins
Type: TV Show URL:

Description:

キャストは男の人が五人います。。一人は料理人です。一人は文化の人です。一人はファッション の人です。一人はインテリアデザイナー です。一人は身だしなみの人です。彼らはファブフィヴェと申します。

This tv series is a spinoff of the original, “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.” No longer confined to clients who are straight guys, the Fab Five now helps people who just need help living their lives no matter what the background. As before, people have been nominated by friends or family. Their clients are listed as heroes in their shows.

Reason for Recommendation:

大好きです!

I really enjoyed watching the original series and think this spinoff or reboot is a better version of the original. It’s one of the rare really good feel-good series out there.

In the “We’re in Japan” season, you hear honest reactions in Japanese and perspectives on Japanese culture and society. Kiko Mizuhara hosts all the episodes in this season along with the Fab Five and Naomi Watanabe makes a special guest appearance in one of the episodes.

As an added bonus, you can watch this show in Japanese! I must've been watching a show in Japanese with English subtitles one day because after that I forgot and switched on Queer Eye. The Fab Five started talking and I was like, that doesn't sound like English ... what are they speaking? ... heyyy, are they speaking in Japanese?! and they were! It's a dub! The Queer Eye reboot has a Japanese audio option and a Japanese subtitle option for all of their episodes whether they're filmed in Japan or not — who knew?!

As an added bonus, you can watch this show in Japanese!

Then, when checking facts for this review, I popped on Queer Eye in Chrome, chose Japanese for the audio and Japanese for the subtitles and was greeted with the show automatically running in the !! I thought I was ecstatic before... This show isn't listed in the so I was elated when I made this second accidental discovery. It just goes to show to check before I write something off as not being available in because there's a good chance that it is. :)
